A building's energy twin.

Monitoring energy performance against a baseline.

rdEnergyTwin — At a glance
The problem it solves

Comparing a bill with last year's does not tell you whether the building is drifting: a colder winter looks like a fault, and a fixed threshold alarms all winter then stays silent all summer. Drift is discovered on the bill.

The work it does for you

rdEnergyTwin builds an energy twin for a site: a model of the building's consumption and its causes. It learns from the site's history, identifies on its own which factors weigh — outdoor temperature, occupancy, public holidays, seasonality —, forecasts consumption ahead and flags the gaps. You then compare actual consumption with what this building should have consumed on that day, in those conditions. It requires a modelled site, a historized meter and a weather source.

Benefits for you
  • A baseline that accounts for reality: a rise in cold weather is not drift, the same rise at equal temperature is.
  • Influencing factors found, not declared: no expert set-up building by building.
  • A forecast that accounts for the weather forecast's usual errors on this site.
  • Usable anomaly detection: a gap from expected behaviour, not a fixed threshold breach.
Use cases
  • Monitoring energy performance against a baseline.
  • Detecting silent drift before the bill.
  • Verifying savings after works, under identical weather conditions.
  • Anticipating a demand peak.
  • Prioritizing action across a portfolio, by gap to the model.
