Niagara modules

Know whether a device answers, before the operator finds out.

Supervising a multi-site portfolio's reachability.

rdNetTest — At a glance
The problem it solves

A device can answer a ping and no longer deliver its service; a link that drops intermittently does not show on a one-off test. The fault is discovered by the operator, and the costliest one to diagnose stays invisible.

The work it does for you

rdNetTest is a family of testers placed in a Niagara station. Each tester regularly queries a target — another station, a controller, a server, one of the site's basic services — in the protocol that target actually speaks, and publishes a health state: reachable or not, response time, counters, timestamps. From a supervisor station, dozens of heterogeneous devices are followed this way, with alarms wired onto failures, and nothing installed on the targets.

Benefits for you
  • A test that speaks the right protocol: "the service works", not just "the machine is on".
  • Stability, not just presence: an intermittent fault becomes visible.
  • Portfolio supervision from a single station.
  • A health state usable like any station value: alarms, histories, views.
  • Nothing to install on the monitored devices.
Use cases
  • Supervising a multi-site portfolio's reachability.
  • Hunting an intermittent fault.
  • Checking infrastructure before commissioning.
  • Documenting a complaint with timestamped facts.
