Niagara modules

Discover a Modbus network instead of typing it in.

Taking over an undocumented site.

rdModbus — At a glance
The problem it solves

Niagara can speak Modbus but cannot search: every device and every register is declared by hand, from manufacturer documentation that is often missing on site. A missing register is discovered in operation, three months later.

The work it does for you

rdModbus scans a Modbus TCP or serial network to find the devices that answer, checks which registers are actually readable on each, and lets you add what was found from Workbench. It tells you what answers, not what it means: interpreting values remains a matter of device documentation. It adds to the existing Modbus network without changing how the station communicates.

Benefits for you
  • The field answers for you: what the documentation does not say is asked of the installation.
  • Commissioning no longer depends on a document nobody can find.
  • Less typing, therefore fewer typos.
  • Doubt is settled by measurement, during commissioning.
  • It adds to existing networks, without replacing them.
Use cases
  • Taking over an undocumented site.
  • Installation acceptance: do all planned devices answer?
  • Diagnosing a silent device.
  • Extending an existing network.
