Niagara modules

Reach a station locked behind a firewall.

Operating a scattered portfolio from a single desk.

rdTunnelCore — At a glance
The problem it solves

Diagnosing, reworking a configuration or updating a remote station often means a site visit, because the site refuses any inbound opening. It is the obstacle that most often blocks remote operation.

The work it does for you

rdTunnelCore opens a session to a Niagara station that is remote and not directly reachable — behind NAT or a firewall — by travelling over the inter-station mesh. Workbench, an HTTPS session or platform access then work as though the station were on the local network, including when the path must go through an intermediate station. The tunnel uses the existing mesh: it opens no additional network path.

Benefits for you
  • No inbound opening to request: the remote station exposes no port.
  • The usual tools, unchanged: Workbench stays Workbench, nothing to relearn.
  • A remote intervention rather than a site visit: diagnosis, rework and updates from your desk.
  • A station with no direct link is reached via another station in the portfolio.
  • Remote access is not open by default: it is decided, on the target station.
Use cases
  • Operating a scattered portfolio from a single desk.
  • Diagnosing an alarm without travelling.
  • Taking over a site whose IT refuses any inbound opening.
  • Intervening out of hours for a few-minute task.
